Dress Code

Dress Code

In addition to the dress code of students provided in the CISD Student Handbook, the following dress codes requirements will be followed by all students and will be enforced at the DAEP:

  • Blue or black jeans or pants.
  • Black or brown belt. All students must wear belts.
  • White button-down, dress shirt, collared, short or long-sleeved shirt.
  • Undershirts must be solid white or solid black.
  • White, black, or brown shoes (no colors in shoes, shoe strings, socks, etc.)
  • White, black, or brown socks – no colors
  • No jewelry, with the exception of a watch, may be worn. No body piercing jewelry may be worn (earrings, nose rings, lip rings, etc.) Spacers, chains, necklaces all are prohibited.
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • No “sagging” will be allowed.
  • Coats, jackets, hoodies may be worn to the DAEP, but may not be worn once inside of the building. Therefore, students will want to dress according to personal levels of comfort rather than for fashion. For example, if the student finds the room cold, then they need to wear a long sleeved shirt and a shirt underneath.
  • No black fingernail polish, lipstick, or make-up/hairstyles that constitute group identification, gang allegiance, or have anti-social connotations.
  • No Mohawks, no patterns shaved into hair, no spiked hair, no hair colors not found in nature, and hair must be all one color. Hair must be up out of face. The majority of the students’ forehead and ears must be visible. Students with long hair will be required to cut their hair or pull it back in a pony tail. Failure to comply will result in loss of credit for the day.
  • No cologne, after-shave, perfume—these can be overpowering and an irritant to others in the DAEP room.

The dress code will be strictly enforced at the DAEP at all times. The interpretation of the dress code is solely up to the DAEP staff.  Failure to comply with the dress code, or failure to take immediate corrective action when required to do so, will result in further disciplinary action, failure to receive credit for the day, additional days added, and/or suspension.
